Early Notes from Magento Imagine Conference 2012 in Vegas

Part of the August Ash team is in Las Vegas this week honing their expertise of the Magento eCommerce CMS platform. Proving that not everything stays in Vegas, we'll be bringing home an even deeper knowledge of Magento's current and future capabilities, ready to apply it to our customers' sites. The following is a list of some highlights so far this week:

3 Beautiful Things You're Missing Without a CMS

A CMS, as it relates to web design, is a content management system. Not every website has one, and if yours is missing a CMS, you may not realize what you're missing. Talk to a business owner or administrator who's made the change, however, and you can get a pretty good idea of why every website we create is built with content management included.

New Launch: Guitar Rodeo

August Ash recently had the privilege of launching the newly redesigned website for the locally-owned and based Guitar Rodeo. Specializing in a variety of Taylor and Santa Cruz guitars, including a bevy of custom models, Guitar Rodeo sells to musicians around the world via the new ecommerce website.

Upcoming Drupal and Magento Events

August Ash is excited to be attending two important upcoming industry events, and we want to spread the word to others who may also be interested.

In March, we'll be in Colorado for the annual Drupalcon event, held in Denver March 19th through the 23rd. Check out the Drupalcon site for more details, updated blog posts, and information on attending.

Magento 1.7 Coming Soon (e-commerce)

Magento 1.7, a new update to the already dependable e-commerce platform, should be released sometime within the next month, and with it, brings some exciting new features (as well as many bug fixes).

Some of the forthcoming highlights in Magento 1.7 include:

Online Sales, Especially From Mobile Devices, See Increase

It should come as little surprise that more sales each year, especially during the holiday shopping season, are taking place online. But the extent of that trend remains newsworthy, bolstered by statistics that show strong increases in ecommerce purchases.

Web Speak: What Is Magento?

We're frequently approached for Magento design, development, and implementation; many times by businesses who already have a Magento site but one which needs repair or completion. And because a big part of what we do is relative to ecommerce sites, we love those opportunities.

However, we also understand that many of our visitors who are considering ecommerce options may not already be familiar with Magento.
