PHP Developer/Programmer

Do you have an eagerness to learn, a zeal for programming custom tools, a fervor for engaging within a team? We are currently seeking a full-time, on-site PHP developer to join us. Duties would primarily consist of developing and maintaining custom web applications, modules/extensions, and other various web-related systems. Applicants will be expected to provide examples of work, if available, and may be asked to complete a coding challenge.

Basic Requirements:

• Minimum of 2 years real-world experience in web development/programming
• Familiarity with source control (subversion/git)
• Solid problem solving/analytical skills
• Strong communication skills
• Solutions-oriented thinking; always looking for the smart solution to a problem rather than jumping at the first answer
• A preoccupation with staying on top of industry trends and technologies

Proven Skills & Technical Requirements:

• Expertise with PHP (object-oriented programming) development
• Expertise with database concepts (MySQL)
• Strong knowledge of HTML (XHTML,HTML5), CSS, XML
• Strong knowledge of MVC methodologies
• Familiarity with JavaScript and AJAX
• A desire to be personally responsible for production-level code
• Ingenuity to leverage all the tools at your disposal
• Comfort working with Linux in a web-oriented context

Bonus Qualifications:

• A history of working on modern web applications
• Experience building extensions for Magento, Drupal, and other popular open-source products
• Experience working with Zend Framework
• Contributed to open-source projects
• Knowledge of optimization, caching, and scaling techniques
• Mobile development
