Filtering Out Page Followers

To better assist Page administrators in measuring more accurate insights, Facebook started to remove likes from Page counts if they originate from memorialized and voluntarily deactivated accounts. In addition, all activity by these deactivated accounts including comments and likes will be removed from the Page. Filtering out these likes will essentially give businesses more up-to-date information on users who actively follow the page. If an account becomes reactivated, the follower will be added back to the Pages’ like count automatically.

What to Expect

Given that this update took effect in the beginning of March, Page administrators may have already seen a small dip in their Page likes. How many do you ask? It all depends on how many inactive accounts follow your Page. Some may see a noticeable change while others may not be affected by the update at all. Despite these changes, Facebook's main objective behind the update was to give business owners more clear and accurate information regarding the level of engagement on their Page.
